In 1965, Howard won the Class B track championships at both Hudson Speedway and The Pines, in a year in which he won 22 features, including 6 in a row, while competing at The Pines, Hudson, Dover, and Lee. 1970 saw Brown win the season opening super modified feature at the Stafford Motor Speedway in April, and then finish the season with a feature win at the World Series at Thompson in October. He won three Star Speedway championships, in 1971, ’72, and ’76.
In 1977, Howard won the 150 lap NESMRA Canadian-American International Classic. He retired in 1986 as the third winningest New England Super Modified Racing Association feature winner ever, and was a three time NESMRA points champion.
