Bryan H. Osgood, AKA "Flyin Bryan", a longtime resident of the Elmira area passed away Saturday morning, December 19, 2009 at his home following an illness with his loving family by his side at the age of 77.
Bryan was a business man, "Osgood Motor Co." for many years. He was a well known accomplished race car driver throughout New York State and Pennsylvania, winning the first two races at the Pocono Race Track in Pennsylvania. He began dirt track racing at Bodines Race Track in Chemung and went on to Sprints and NASCAR.
I worked for Bryan in the mid-60's at his car lot on Pennsylvania Ave. I can still say he was the best boss I ever encountered throughout my career. Our travels to various races in NY and PA were always full of humor and adventure. The world has lost a truly great person. My condolences to his family and to his brother Keith.
